Comprehensive Cancer Care in Prince George

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Cancer Care Specialist to join our team at BC Cancer. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families.

About the Role

This casual position offers flexible scheduling with Monday-Friday daytime shifts and occasional Saturdays. You will be part of a collaborative team that is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct patient oncology care, including assessing patients, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and delivering treatment according to prescribed protocols.
  2. Collaborate with patients, family, and team members to develop, assess, and modify patient treatment/care plans.
  3. Administer medications, injections, blood products, and IV fluids; monitor patient reactions to treatment and changes in physical or mental status.
  4. Conduct and document patient information and healthcare history, nursing assessments, telephone communications, symptom and side effect management, patient and family education, and care evaluations.
  5. Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR (Level C) certification.
  • One year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Location and Salary

This position is located in Prince George, BC, and offers a competitive salary range of $63,134 - $83,975 per annum, depending on experience.
