Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team for a high-profile metro infrastructure project in Toronto, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the construction of a major transportation project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

About the Project

The Ontario Line (OL) project is a brand-new metro line serving some of Toronto's busiest districts. The project scope includes the design, build, operation, and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new underground, surface, and elevated track.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the construction process, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and industry standards;
  • Maintain high-quality daily records of observations and other information gathered during site visits;
  • Review deliverables and submittals prepared by contractors related to construction or construction support;
  • Identify non-conformances or issues that require addressing to benefit the project;
  • Report progress, identify risks, and escalate emerging issues to the Project Manager;
  • Engage discipline leads for subject matter expertise in health & safety, environment, quality, contracts, project controls, and interfaces;
  • Build relationships with contractor site teams and validate progress reports against own observations and records.
Requirements
  • Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience;
  • Previously held construction supervision role(s) with responsibility for construction of infrastructure of similar scope, size, and complexity to a station on a metro project;
  • Experience working on infrastructure mega-projects, preferably rail projects in urban areas;
  • Good relationship-building and communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H) and Zero Accident safety program.
Compensation

Estimated annual salary: $120,000 - $180,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Bechtel offers a comprehensive compensation package, including competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for career growth.
