Job Summary
The Providence Health Care team is seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Medicine/Psych Unit. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, using evidence-based practice and clinical judgment.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records, ensuring timely and effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Provide direct nursing interventions for crisis and life-threatening situations, demonstrating expertise in behavioral care planning and psychiatric medication management.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement patient education plans, promoting health literacy and empowering patients to take an active role in their care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and best practices that enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in behavioral care planning, psychiatric medication management, and crisis intervention.
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment, prioritizing patient needs and collaborating with colleagues to achieve optimal outcomes.
