Shop Supervisor

The Shop Supervisor at Colas Western Canada Inc. is responsible for managing the safe maintenance of all mobile equipment, coordinating daily activities, and planning for annual budgeting and shop cost management across multiple physical shop locations.
This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and technical abilities, as well as a detail-oriented approach to analyzing information and making decisions based on data.
The successful candidate will be able to promote process improvement, develop standards, and manage processes effectively, while also building collaborative relationships within the company and externally.
This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in manufacturing and/or facility maintenance or operations, with a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain shop, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing, employee time posting, parts orders, and customer follow-up.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including staff and schedules, to ensure timely repair progression.
- Set up and implement preventative/proactive maintenance programs.
- Budget and plan for maintenance activities, including staff, parts, schedule, and equipment.
- Manage procurement of parts, inventory, and fuel management through the purchase order system (JDE).
- Conduct weekly tailgate safety meetings and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- Interview, select, train, discipline, and terminate employees as needed.
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
- Five years' previous experience in manufacturing and/or facility maintenance or operations role.
- Three years' experience in facility or construction project management.
- Microsoft Suite experience, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to prepare reports and review documents.
- Oracle JDE experience is an asset.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Bias to action, willingness to take ownership of issues, and drive to resolution.
- Strong communication skills, bias to direct conversations before texting or email.
- Valid class 5 driver's license.
- Ability to travel to various business units and corporate offices as required.
- Overtime as required.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment if required.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals.
