Job Description:

As a Mandarin Medical Interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication between individuals with limited English language skills and representatives from various industries. Your responsibilities include:

  • Handling telephone interpretation to provide accurate and clear interpretation during phone calls.
  • Utilizing your language skills to navigate conversations in specialized fields such as Healthcare, Insurance, Financial, and Law Enforcement.
  • Cultural bridging to create an inclusive atmosphere and foster a positive communication environment.
  • Maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy during all interactions.
  • Following a weekly schedule of a minimum 30 hours per week with no planned absences for the first 450 hours worked.
  • Participating in training sessions to elevate your interpretation skills and stay current with industry best practices.
  • Continued learning to stay updated on industry trends and linguistic developments.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be fluent in English and Mandarin – reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Have acquired a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be confident with medical terminology.
  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be available to work a weekly schedule of a minimum 30 hours per week with no planned absences for at least the first 450 hours worked.
  • Reside in Canada.
  • Legally be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Have a suitable quiet and secure work-at-home environment.
  • Have a stable and fast internet connection.

Compensation:

The compensation rate for this role is $23 per hour, with pay increases according to performance reviews.
