Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at EllisDon Corporation. As a key member of our health and safety department, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our employees and contractors by developing and implementing effective health and safety strategies.

About the Role

In this critical role, you will oversee the management of health and safety plans, conduct workplace inspections, and train staff on safety procedures. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure that our operations align with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Train and educate staff on safety procedures, including hazard recognition, reporting, and response.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Analyze incident reports and develop strategies to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
  • Maintain accurate records of training, inspections, and incidents, as required by regulatory authorities.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety leadership role, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective health and safety strategies that result in improved employee safety outcomes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting workplace inspections, identifying hazards, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees, contractors, and senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and develop targeted solutions.
Compensation and Benefits
