We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at the City of Brooks. As a key member of our management team, you will play a critical role in developing and delivering HR strategies that support our municipality's strategic goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with our municipality's vision and mission
- Provide expert advice and support to managers and staff on HR-related matters
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to HR
- Recruit, select, and onboard new employees
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and performance management
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics to inform business decisions
- University degree or college diploma in business administration (Human Resources Management preferred)
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) Designation in the Province of Alberta, or the willingness to obtain the CPHR Designation
- Minimum of three to five years' of progressive experience in Human Resources
- Extensive knowledge and experience of the principles and practices of Human Resource Management
- Knowledge of the Federal and Provincial Labour Laws currently in effect
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City management team members, union representatives, employees, professional colleagues, and the general public
The City of Brooks offers a competitive salary and benefits package for this position. The regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The successful applicant will also receive a free family membership to the JBS Canada Centre during the term of employment.
A clean criminal records check and driver abstract will be required before an offer of employment is presented to the successful applicant.
