Job Summary

Suncor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pipeline Control Centre Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our pipeline systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control pipeline operations, including adjusting rates and pump selections as needed.
  • Provide expert advice and feedback on operational constraints and opportunities, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Exhibit exceptional troubleshooting skills and sound decision-making abilities to resolve complex issues.
  • Collaborate with shift crew, support staff, and external stakeholders to achieve operational goals.
  • Make operational changes to pipeline systems, maintaining a strong understanding of pipeline hydraulics and adhering to good operational discipline.
  • Respond to emergency conditions and alarms on the SCADA system to protect personnel, environment, and equipment.
  • Review and provide input on operating procedure revisions and operational manual updates.
  • Generate SAP work request notifications for nuisance alarms or failed equipment.
Requirements
  • Two years of field operations experience.
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • A valid 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate or higher.
  • Demonstrated adherence to all environmental health and safety practices, policies, standards, and regulations.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
