Senior Technical System Analyst Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical System Analyst to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting multiple Windows, Linux, and cloud applications in our IDEA portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues requiring business application understanding, working closely with business clients to understand priorities and impact.
  • Identify emerging issues and work with development teams to resolve them in the short and long term, synthesizing multiple technical factors quickly to arrive at a workaround or solution within hours.
  • Learn about multiple applications and technologies to provide cross-function support, understanding how legacy and emerging technologies integrate.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in production support roles, supporting multiple applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective communication skills, able to communicate in both technical and business terms.
  • Ability to work independently, apply critical and strategic thinking, and manage deadlines while multi-tasking.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Standards, Methodologies, SDLC, and audit requirements.
  • Experience working with teams across various geographies and familiar with Change Management activities.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Linux technology platform and relational database.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with job scheduling tools like Stonebranch, Windows (IIS) and devops tools like UCD, OCP, Helios, etc.
  • Supporting applications from remote locations/hybrid as the main team is situated elsewhere.
  • Knowledge of Postgres DB, network, domains, Apache server configuration, etc.

Based on industry standards and market conditions, the estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 - $145,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada.
