The VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS' ASSOCIATION OF SARNIA-LAMBTON seeks a dedicated and compassionate individual to play the role of an Eloquent Actor in our simulation-based learning program. As an Eloquent Actor, you will engage students in realistic scenarios, providing them with hands-on experience in a controlled environment.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who can commit to 60 hours of volunteer work, with flexible scheduling options during weekdays. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their growth as healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with learners, faculty, supervisors, and peers.
  • Simulate real-life scenarios, incorporating accurate and consistent portrayal of health conditions, behaviors, and physical findings.
  • Complete checklists accurately and consistently, ensuring high-quality feedback to learners.
  • Provide constructive feedback using the CORBS method, supporting learners in their development.
  • Engage in ongoing feedback and evaluation, adapting to new information and improving performance.
  • Communicate changes in personal contact information to the program.

The VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS' ASSOCIATION OF SARNIA-LAMBTON values its volunteers and strives to provide a supportive and inclusive environment. We recognize the importance of community service and offer opportunities for high school students to earn mandatory credits and post-secondary students to enhance their Co-Curricular Record (CCR).

Requirements
  • Able to work patiently and professionally with students.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule to accommodate weekday commitments.
  • Comfortable sharing personal health history as required.
  • Minimum age requirement: 14 years old.

Please note that successful applicants may be invited to audition sessions, which may be held multiple times per year. These sessions will provide an opportunity to learn more about the program and the role of an Eloquent Actor. Successful candidates will be selected based on availability and suitability for specific demographic requirements of our clients.

Estimated Salary Range: $15-$20 per hour
