About the Role:
Gabriel Dumont Institute is seeking a sessional instructor to teach EFDT 435, a course that delves into the fundamental aspects of teaching, including the purposes of education, the characteristics of an educated individual, and the valued traits of effective teachers.
The course will explore critical theories that underpin anti-racist and anti-oppressive education, such as critical race theory, feminist theory, poststructuralist and feminist poststructuralist theory, queer theory, and postcolonial theory. These theories will serve as lenses to examine the normative dimensions of teaching, with a focus on Métis experiences, Indigenous education, and activism.
Applicants should possess a Master of Education or equivalent qualifications in the relevant content area, be approved by the University of Saskatchewan, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with Indigenous student populations.

Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 per year, based on the U of S Sessional Lecturer wage grid. This compensation package includes a competitive remuneration rate, reflecting the importance of this role in supporting the academic success of our students.
