About the Role

NAV CANADA is seeking an experienced Data and Visualization Leader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a data-driven culture within the organization, ensuring that business decisions are informed by data and analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Lead the development of business intelligence and data visualization solutions to support decision-making across the organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytics needs and use cases, and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Manage and deliver comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business decision-making.
  • Provide leadership and direction on building and operationalizing complex data solutions, and recommend data cleansing and quality solutions.
  • Continually monitor and refine the roadmap to meet business needs and take advantage of rapidly evolving technologies.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of relevant data governance, data quality, and data security best practices.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes, data integration, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of data architecture and data modeling concepts and best practices.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, and Azure for data storage and processing.
  • Extensive knowledge of project and change management approaches and methodologies.
  • At least five years of experience in any of the following areas: data strategy, data governance, data analyst, business intelligence analyst, data architecture, data modeling.
  • Experience in managing employees and project teams.
  • Experience working with Power BI or other visualization tools.
  • Experience in delivering self-serve capabilities and/or data literacy programs to the organization.
  • Experience working in close collaboration with cross-functional business groups.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
