The Electrical Estimator is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Chief Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for all aspects of estimating and ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures relating to the estimating process. The Estimator shall also liaise with customers to ensure continuity of work opportunities and with vendors to maintain competitiveness within the industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labour and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.
  • Advise on tendering procedures, examine and analyze tenders, recommend tender awards.
  • Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-offs, project closings and operational/sector meetings.
  • Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
  • Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate of an electrical estimating or construction program.
  • Several years' experience working in the electrical construction sector.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in estimating electrical ICI construction work, preferably on P3 projects.

Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:

Proficient knowledge and understanding of estimate closure, project electrical design interpretation, construction scheduling, planning, and execution, organization, time management, excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and ability to work under deadlines.

Advanced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) and Accubid.

The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Please note that a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
