SMS Equipment Inc. is a leading provider of heavy equipment solutions in Canada, and we are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to join our team.
Estimated Salary Range:
$60,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and performance.
Job Description:
As a Sales Representative with SMS Equipment Inc., you will be responsible for managing sales of new equipment within the domestic sales function. Your primary goal will be to meet personal sales targets by contacting assigned customer accounts or prospects and selling company products and services within a designated geographic territory.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager to set quotas, implement sales action plans, and monitor economic trends and new product development. Additionally, you will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, budgets, and prospect reports.
Establishing and building strong customer relationships is crucial to your success in this role. You will initiate direct sales activities with existing customers and new prospects within assigned territories, act as a customer representative for SMS, and become knowledgeable about all aspects of customer relationships with SMS, including services, sales, pricing, and goodwill.
Other key responsibilities include assisting customers in implementing equipment changes for improvement and reduced operating costs, ensuring feedback of customer problems to SMS, developing regular call schedules, and closing relationships with customer staff at all levels in their companies.
Finally, you will meet personal sales targets as established, focus on accounts that are stable in nature within identified markets or geography, and utilize Company technical, sales, and promotional resources to generate leads and achieve sales goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- The typical level of education to perform this job competently is equivalent to completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering, marketing, or a related field.
- A strong sales/engineering orientation is required with preference given to 5-7 years of experience within the mining/industrial industry.
- Must be ambitious and aggressive, proactively acquiring cutting-edge technology and best practices pertaining to the Company's products and services.
- Must possess excellent abilities, including making intelligent decisions under pressure, possessing good judgment, initiative, a good job attitude, and being dependable, innovative, and creative.
