We are seeking a skilled Shellfish Processor to join our team at Independent Fisheries Limited. As a key member of our processing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our shellfish products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport fish and shellfish to the work area and check products and packaging for defects.
  • Disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing.
  • Set up and operate machines to can, bag, box or otherwise package fish and seafood products.
  • Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight and pack fish in ice.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas.
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines.
  • Sort fish according to species, weight and destination.
Work Environment:

You will be working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment with exposure to odours, cold/refrigerated temperatures, and wet/damp conditions.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and maintain efficient interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and reliability are essential.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
Language:

The primary language of work is English.
