Job Summary

The City of White Rock is seeking a Community Recreation Coordinator to join their Recreation and Culture Department on a temporary full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, recommending, planning, and implementing recreational, cultural, and social programs and activities for various age groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement leisure service programs that meet the needs and interests of the community.
  • Supervise and oversee the work of seasonal staff, contract instructors, and volunteers.
  • Liaise with staff to create and promote the Recreation Guide and other promotional materials.
  • Assist in budget development and management.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in community recreation or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, and objectives of organized community recreation.
  • Ability to plan, develop, schedule, coordinate, and implement leisure service programs.
  • Ability to supervise, direct, and oversee the work of staff, contract instructors, and volunteers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
