Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Financial Management Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Treasurer.

Job Description
  • This key role involves providing financial management services to support the overall operations of the Township, ensuring effective accounting, accounts receivable and payable, and reserve administration.
  • The successful candidate will also supervise payroll and coordinate banking, cash-flow monitoring, and financial reporting.
  • Other responsibilities include asset management planning, month-end reconciliations, audit coordination, purchasing activities, budget preparation, and compliance with financial agreements.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A degree from a recognized university in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Satisfactory completion of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation in good standing.
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in the municipal sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, auditing, and municipal legislation.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and Great Plains software.
What We Offer

In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive annual salary of $95,000 - $110,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
