Job Summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Global Technology Center in Vaughan, Ontario. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing hardware and firmware for our technology offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical requirements and design system architecture and specifications.
  • Develop and implement schematic capture and PCB layout for low power analog and digital designs.
  • Design and develop firmware and software for embedded systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project requirements.
  • Manage product life cycle issues, including obsolescence and alternative selection.
  • Establish best practices and development processes to ensure successful new product developments.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in analog, digital, and mixed signal hardware design and implementation.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded micro-controller design (ARM Cortex-M) with communication interfaces such as SPI, UART, and USB.
  • Detailed knowledge of electronics hardware and ability to integrate designs with mechanical elements, embedded firmware, and sensors.
  • Thorough experience in schematic entry and layout design using industry standard tools.
  • Experience with battery operated system designs and low power strategies.
  • Experience with integration of embedded systems and user interface.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English.
