Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Engineering Projects Department at the Vancouver Airport Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a diverse array of construction projects, with a focus on airfield and apron facilities, lighting, and utilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing project requirements, scope, budget, and schedule
  • Preparing and delivering project implementation plans in collaboration with Airport Operations and Maintenance
  • Assisting in the preparation and evaluation of Request for Proposal and Tender documents
  • Managing design teams to meet desired project outcomes
  • Maintaining and managing project budgets, including forecasting costs and risk management
  • Liaising with internal Airport Authority departments and external stakeholders throughout the projects

Key qualifications include:

  • Minimum of five years' experience managing construction projects in the design, construction, or consulting industry
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Knowledge of construction industry practices and standards, particularly for heavy civil work
  • Strong project management, organization, and documentation abilities
  • Proficiency using Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
