Job Description
- Maintain a visible presence in the field to support mine and mill operations.
- Cultivate leadership capabilities to implement HS&E programs among employees at all levels.
- Regularly review applicable legislation and standards to ensure compliance.
- Audit the Safety Management System to guarantee alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Provide resources and support to managers, supervisors, foremen, and peers within the health & safety department.
- Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and present health and safety topics in group settings.
- Conduct site safety inspections and track corrective actions.
- Support the training department as needed.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel Programs.
- Excellent comprehension of OH&S Act Ontario (Reg. 854).
- 2+ years' experience in a health and safety position.
- Prior supervisory and train-the-trainer experience.
- 10+ years' Underground mining experience required.
- Ability to apply risk assessments to company operations and activities.
