Your Opportunity:
This role is part of our Child & Youth Health Services (CYHS) team, where you will serve children, youth, and families from birth to 18 years old as part of an integrated child health team.
Job Description:
Evidence-Informed Pediatric Rehabilitation Services:
As a pediatric occupational therapist, you will provide evidence-informed services focusing on occupational performance tailored to meet individual needs. This may include acting as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate, collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide triage, screening, consultation, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, prevention, self-management, education, case management, referrals, transition support, and collaboration within clients' environments.
- Encourage active client participation in care, determining, implementing, and evaluating rehabilitation plans.
- Collaborate with interprofessional teams for quality improvement and engaging stakeholders to advance services for clients.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in peer mentoring and supervising students.
- Clinical supervision may be provided to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
- Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated Competencies:
- Competence in working with pediatric and youth populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Experience:
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
- Experience working in rural settings.
- Experience working with infants, children, and youth.
- AADL Authorizer.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Estimated Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per annum based on experience, location, and qualifications.
