Teranet Inc. is seeking a seasoned executive to lead its information security strategy as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). This pivotal role demands a visionary leader who can integrate a holistic view of information security into the broader business objectives.

Teranet is wholly owned by OMERS, one of Canada's largest pension plans, and is overseen by the plan's global infrastructure investment arm, OMERS Infrastructure.
About the RoleThe CISO will oversee the development and implementation of robust security policies, procedures, and technologies that align with Teranet's strategic goals. You will work closely with other C-level executives to establish a security-first culture across the organization.
As the CISO, you will champion the evolution of Teranet's security posture, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and threat intelligence to predict and mitigate potential risks.
Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring that Teranet remains resilient in the face of cyber threats, maintaining the trust and confidence of clients and stakeholders.
The CISO has comprehensive oversight over Teranet's Information Security Program and is accountable for the strategic design, development, implementation, configuration, and support of the technical security mechanisms that support Teranet's security strategy, security policy, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Oversight of Teranet's Information Security Program
- Strategic design, development, implementation, configuration, and support of technical security mechanisms
- Establishment of security-first culture across the organization
- Leadership in evolving Teranet's security posture using cutting-edge technologies and threat intelligence
- Management of risk and compliance obligations, including PCI, SOC 2, HIPAA, privacy, etc.
We are looking for a seasoned executive with experience defining and leading a holistic information security strategy across a complex organization.
You should have a strong understanding of technology and business operations from a risk versus security perspective and implement controls to minimize risks and business disruptions.
A proven history of developing information security policies and procedures for a growing, complex organization is essential.
Additionally, you should be well-connected in the security and threat intelligence community, a forward thinker that can predict potential future threats, and an effective collaborator with a history of managing complex projects to successful completion.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to the Board and interfacing with executives, stakeholders, and clients within and outside Teranet, are required.
Qualifications- Minimum of a University Degree in Computer Science, Technology, and/or Business Administration
- Relevant certification in Information Security field or acceptable combination of academic credentials and professional experience
- 10-15+ years of related work experience
- 5+ years of executive management experience in IT Security
- 5+ years leading investigations and managing incidents
- CCISO, CISSP, CISM, GSLC or other management level security certifications
- Prior experience in managing Cloud security is a strong plus
- Experience of managing security across organizations with global presence
- Experience managing local and offshore vendor consulting relationships
- Proven record of delivering Enterprise Security Programs on time, within budget, and at a high standard of quality
- Experience with due diligence and acquisition integration is a significant asset
