Program Overview

The United Church of Canada's Climate Policy Training Programme is a comprehensive capacity-building initiative that equips young adults with the knowledge and confidence necessary to engage in international climate policy.

This programme is designed for young people aged 18-35 who are passionate about climate action and want to make a meaningful impact in their communities. Our team represents a strong international and intergenerational collaboration, spanning multiple continents, professional backgrounds, and ages.

We offer a free, fully online training experience that will help you develop the skills and expertise needed to effectively contribute to climate policy discussions. Sessions will be held between 1-5 pm UTC, with timings adjusted to suit the cohort's time zones.

Estimated Annual Salary: CAD $40,000 - $60,000

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Climate Policy Advocate. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advancing the church's climate policy goals and objectives. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing effective climate policy strategies
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and partners
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of climate policy developments

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (environmental science, sustainability, politics, etc.)
  • At least 2 years of experience in climate policy or a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
