Valve Technician Job Description

About the Role

This is a First Shift position, located in Edmonton, AB. As an Industrial Valve Specialist, you will work with the Assembly and Repair team to assemble and test valves and actuators using bills of material, schematics, specifications, parts pick lists, and other applicable documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations resulting in sub-assemblies or complete units working from various complex documentation.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and testing of valves and related equipment.
  • Dismantle, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild actuators and assemblies.
  • Document and record information, including output, throughput, quality, and interruptions or other problems encountered.
  • Use hand and power tools, pneumatic wrenches, drill presses, grinders, and other equipment as needed to complete assembly and repair tasks.
  • Inspect components and assemblies accurately and precisely, clearly recording the results of these inspections, and take pictures as required.
  • Assist in training other technicians as needed.
Requirements
  • A High School diploma/GED or prior formal work experience is required.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or related work environment is required.
  • Troubleshooting skills in positioners, actuators, and valves are required.
  • The ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs is required.
  • The ability to exhibit behavior that encourages team building, decision-making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement is required.
  • Self-motivation is essential.
  • The ability to work overtime as required is necessary.
  • An openness to field work on occasion is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. The Flowserve company offers a range of benefits, including medical benefits on the first day of employment, generous paid vacation time, paid holidays, and many other excellent benefits.
