Alderwood House is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Child Development Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
Requirements:
  • Child Development Supervisor (ECE level 3)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Criminal record check
  • Immunization records
Work Environment:

The work environment is physically demanding, requiring a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
