Mental Health Support Worker

About the Role:
Connective Support Society is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Residence Worker, Mental Health in Abbotsford. As a key member of our community living program, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with mental health needs to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide input to the Program Manager and other staff in the development of appropriate care plans to help residents achieve their objectives
- Ensure residents adhere to the terms of their residency and are informed of facility rules
- Offer personal care support to clients, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Provide emotional support and feedback to residents and their families
- Participate in social, recreational, employment, educational, and other programs when assigned to assist residents' case/care plans
- Serve as a positive role model for residents, delivering life skills training and appropriate behavior management
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- Personal transportation in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and suitable for client transport
- Demonstrated ability to respond efficiently in crisis and escalated situations
- Diploma in Social Services and one year of relevant experience, or a relevant combination of education and experience
- A background in professional or lived experience working with vulnerable populations facing multiple barriers
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check and reference checks
- Evidence of compliance with the province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs
- Current Emergency First Aid Certificate
- Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination
