How this role contributes to our success:

In this role as Senior Claims Specialist, you will play a critical part in helping AXIS Insurance, a world leader in specialty lines, achieve its goals. You will provide specialized technical claim handling services for primary and excess liability claims under General Liability, Design Professional, and Environmental policies.

Your responsibilities will include analyzing liability and damages issues, drafting coverage letters, and communicating positions to insureds and brokers. You will also manage external adjusters and counsel, collaborate with Insureds, negotiate settlements, and evaluate pending claims for reserve postings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze liability and damages issues for primary and excess claims, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Analyze insurance coverage issues, draft coverage letters, and communicate positions to insureds and brokers.
  • Manage external adjusters and counsel, collaborate with Insureds in the defense and resolution of claims.
  • Negotiate settlements.
  • Evaluate full pending of claims for connection with posting and maintaining accurate reserves.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with brokers, risk managers, general counsels, and various vendors.
  • Provide data and analytic-based informational support to underwriters.
  • Support underwriters with respect to marketing efforts, policy wording, and trending discussions.
  • Oversee TPA adjusters on behalf of AXIS.
  • Ensure prompt payment of losses and vendor invoices.

You may also be required to take on additional duties appropriate to the nature of this role.

What You Need to Have:

  • Prior experience handling claims, litigation, or related experience in a legal or multiline insurance environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, interact with others, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
  • Great attention to detail, an open mind, and a penchant for customer service.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Law degree or CIP designation.
  • French language abilities.

Role Factors:

In this role, you will typically be required to:

Be in the office 3 days per week.

Be available for occasional travel/off-site meetings.

Based on industry standards and the location, the estimated salary for this position is $$90,000 - $110,000 per year. Salary may vary based on experience and qualifications.
