Job Summary
The Caregiver Support Associate provides direct and indirect support to patients on the nursing units, embodying a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient's plan of care. This includes one-on-one care to patients as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Program from a Community College
- Holds current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Demonstrated ability to work with patients with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of good body mechanics
- Good listening skills
- Ability to understand, interpret, and carry out written or verbal instructions
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the multidisciplinary team
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
- Limited proficiency in oral French – and testing completed
Requirements
- $45,000 - $60,000 per year
