Field Claims Specialist

We are currently hiring for a Field Claims Specialist to join our Field Claims team at Aviva. This role will be home based and we are looking for candidates in the Greater Halifax Area in Nova Scotia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes on-site and/or virtual inspections of personal and commercial claims.
- Responsible for capturing the scope of damages and writing repair estimates to settle claims.
- Reconciles and validates vendor estimates to ensure price and scope is appropriate.
- Investigates by meeting with insureds, third parties, witnesses, and lawyers to obtain facts and information.
- Reviews facts, policy, technical reports, fire marshal reports, case law, and makes decisions on coverage, value of the claim, and negotiates/settles the claim accordingly.
- Responsible for providing exemplary customer service and keeping related parties informed of the claims status.
- Responsible for data accuracy, issuance of payments to insureds, vendors, and other insurance companies.
- Assistance during CATs within Canada.
- Corresponds with third parties, lawyers, insureds, brokers, and individuals or companies who have an interest in the claim settlement.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a Field adjuster handling Personal Lines and Commercial lines claims.
- Strong background in Property Insurance.
- Preference given to a candidate with the ability to scope damages and prepare an estimate for repairs.
- Good PC skills and adaptable using new technology.
- Valid driver's license.

- The salary band for this position ranges from $49,000 to $91,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity.
