Job Description

This exciting opportunity is with WoodGreen, an accredited non-profit agency serving youth and their families in the east end of Toronto. As a Lead Therapeutic Services Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting staff in assessing and understanding client mental health needs through a developmental and trauma-informed lens
  • Supervising and monitoring staff in the delivery of therapeutic programming and intervention
  • Providing regular supervision and identifying appropriate professional development for assigned staff
  • Supporting school/day treatment programs through supervision and attending school meetings
  • Ensuring effective use of communication systems to convey client and program information
  • Monitoring expense sheets and mileage reports, and ensuring timely submission of timesheets for payroll purposes
  • Overseeing data collection and accuracy of client records through quality assurance reviews and audits
  • Ensuring client records are maintained according to Agency standards and privacy policies
  • Assisting in maintaining accreditation documentation and communicating information to Program Managers
  • Meeting regularly with program management to determine and evaluate program, client, and staff needs
  • Participating in recruitment of new staff and making hiring recommendations
  • Chairing or co-chairing team meetings as required
  • Providing on-call coverage in coordination with other management staff
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A degree or diploma in a related field (MSW, BSW, CYC) or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with children/youth in a congregate care setting
  • Minimum 2 years' experience supervising staff
  • Demonstrated relational/strengths-based philosophy of care towards children and youth
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in therapeutic interventions
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex issues facing clients and families
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience with budgeting and fiscal responsibility
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and licensing standards
  • Knowledge of community resources and extensive networking experience
  • Ability to exercise professionalism and sound judgment in conflictual situations
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Valid First Aid/CPR and UMAB certifications
