Job Summary

Vertex is seeking a highly skilled Forest Operations Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for conducting field work and planning activities throughout Central and Northern Alberta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze field data using GPS and GIS technologies
  • Conduct watercourse classification and 3rd party crossing identification
  • Assess hazard trees and patrol utility lines in remote locations
  • Prepare technical reports and regulatory applications
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience in forest operations or a related field
  • Professional designation in Alberta or eligibility as a RPFT is preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ARC GIS Online
