Clinical Pathologist Opportunity at McGill University

The Canadian Association of Pathologists is seeking a skilled clinical pathologist to join our team at McGill University in Montreal. As a leading institution in pathology education and research, we are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Estimated Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced hematopathologist to practice primarily hematopathology and participate in a subspecialized surgical pathology service including dermatological (i.e., cutaneous lymphomas), head and neck, and thoracic pathology. The successful candidate will also supervise lymphoma protocols and participate in hemato-oncology tumor boards.
Key Responsibilities
• Practice hematopathology and participate in a subspecialized surgical pathology service
• Supervise lymphoma protocols and participate in hemato-oncology tumor boards
• Maintain the highest standards of practice and deliver services to match established performance indicators
• Contribute to McGill's academic mission through research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees
Qualifications and Requirements
• Hold a medical degree and be eligible for licensure in the province of Quebec
• Have completed subspecialty training in Anatomical Pathology and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent)
• Have at least one year of training in Hematological Pathology and five years of experience in Hematological Pathology
• Demonstrate commitment to teaching and an interest in clinical research and publication
• Show proven ability to work in a team and have a strong track record of collegiality
• Relevant experience in another field of surgical pathology is an asset
• Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec
Working Conditions
This is a full-time Contract Academic Staff position based at the Jewish General Hospital. The JGH is a major teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University. The JGH Pathology lab is part of the Optilab Montréal MUHC network.
