As a Payroll Administrator at VHA Home HealthCare, you will be responsible for processing payroll and investigating employee pay inquiries. You will also provide excellent customer service while assisting the Payroll Supervisor with all activities that facilitate the weekly payroll process.
Key Responsibilities
- Process pay runs on alternate weeks and as backup to cover vacation/leaves.
- Maintain and process complex payroll data within processing deadlines
- Responds to employee inquiries via email, phone, and ticketing system
- Maintain, process and reconcile a variety of payroll source documents and data in compliance with established policies, regulatory guidelines, and contractual requirements of collective agreements are fulfilled
- Collect, investigate, and analyze information in order to ultimately resolve pay discrepancies efficiently before closing the loop with clear and respectful communication with the affected employee
- Assist with assignments and special projects as required
- College Diploma or University Degree
- Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification (National Payroll Institute) would be an asset
- Minimum of 3 years of full cycle payroll processing in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to process a high volume of data while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and ticketing systems
- Proven ability to identify, investigate and resolve pay-related issues efficiently
- Good customer service skills - able to communicate respectfully and professionally in any situation
- Handles confidential information in an ethical and professional manner
- Reliable with a strong work ethic, able to work independently in a time sensitive environment
- Experience with in-house payroll systems, Workday. Quadrant HR and/or GoldCare would be an asset
