About the Opportunity


We are currently accepting applications for a Support Care Specialist to join our team at Northwood's Halifax campus.


About the Role


As a Support Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents. Your primary responsibilities will include:



  • Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assisting with meals and between-meal refreshments
  • Engaging residents in leisure and recreational activities
  • Facilitating resident participation in recreation programs
  • Practicing safe client handling and transferring/mobilizing residents as needed

Requirements


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • A graduate of an approved Support Care Specialist program with Nova Scotia provincial certification or equivalency
  • Current standard First-Aid and CPR certification
  • Previous related experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and clinical skills
  • Able to work flexible hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Able to maintain regular and consistent attendance

Salary and Benefits


The estimated salary for this role is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including extended health and dental coverage, pension plan, and paid time off.
