Job Title: Executive Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Restaurant Kalye Inc. / Kalye Restaurant Inc. as a key member of our culinary team.

Job Summary:

The Executive Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, as well as supervising kitchen staff and helpers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Menu Planning: Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization.
  • Cooking and Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
  • Supervision: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas, and organize buffets and banquets.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:

We offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees, as well as diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment.

Support for Youths:

We offer on-the-job training tailored to youth, mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities, and awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.

Support for Veterans:

We offer workshops, counselling services, or other resources to help Veterans navigate their transition into the civilian workforce.

Support for Indigenous People:

We offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers, and develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.

Support for Mature Workers:

We participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports mature workers.

Support for Visible Minorities:

We participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports members of visible minorities.

Work Term: Permanent

Work Language: English or French

Hours: 30 hours per week
