Job Summary

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Human Resources Consultant to provide expert advice and support to assigned departments. As a key member of the HR team, you will promote and foster a consultative and problem-solving labour relations approach towards management, employees, and unions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide human resource consultation, advice, and support to assigned departments
  • Consult with managers, directors, and other clients on operational issues and assist them in meeting strategic goals and effective operation of their human resources
  • Investigate labour relations issues and complaints, research appropriate jurisprudence and industry practices, and develop, recommend, and implement contract interpretations, policies, procedures, and programs
  • Provide advice to managers and other clients respecting grievance and other dispute resolution process management
  • Promote constructive union-management relations through respectful communication and interest-based problem-solving

Requirements:

  • University degree in a field related to Human Resource Management, plus five (5) years' recent, related experience in human resources in a unionized environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with others in a highly sensitive labour climate
  • Demonstrated ability to handle change effectively and model effective behaviours for others
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License and use of a personal vehicle
