About the Role

The Restaurant Sous Chef is a key member of our kitchen team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence and exceptional guest experiences. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding results.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to food safety standards.
  • Develop and implement creative menu ideas, incorporating seasonal ingredients and trends.
  • Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff, providing coaching and feedback to ensure excellence in service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Executive Chefs and other department heads to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inventory management and ordering to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Maintain high-quality presentation and plating standards, ensuring dishes are visually appealing and meet Marriott's expectations.
  • Foster a culture of open communication, encouraging teamwork and empowering staff to take ownership of their work.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a sous chef or equivalent role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting.
  • Degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in managing kitchen operations, including inventory control and staff supervision.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and adaptability skills, with ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
