Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Optician to join our team at EssilorLuxottica Group in North Vancouver. As a Licensed Optician, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and providing expert optical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet all customers, setting clear expectations and providing a personalized experience.
  • Custom fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Act as a leader in optical acumen, providing expert advice and guidance to customers and colleagues.
  • Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear to meet customer needs and standards.
  • Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions, providing solutions and support.
  • Utilize technology effectively, managing time pressure and customer volume while maintaining exceptional product knowledge and tool usage.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
  • Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively, achieving exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and organized store appearance, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Embody a resourceful, self-motivated, and results-driven approach, with a desire for continual learning and improvement.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • State licensure.
  • Optical dispensing experience.
  • Strong customer service skills, including communication, listening, and team building.
  • Knowledge of current store merchandise.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Awareness of current fashion trends.
  • Selling skills, including the ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
  • Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
  • Embracing new technology and change.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service and retail experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
