Lead Mill Operations

As a key member of the Mill Operations Department at Agnico Eagle, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful operation of our mill circuits. Reporting to the Mill Operations General Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising others, promoting a culture of improvement, and maintaining effective relationships with other teams and support staff.

  • Actively supervise and support the development of others to improve work practices and promote a culture of excellence.
  • Foster effective relationships with other teams and support staff to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and maintain metallurgical parameters in all aspects of mill circuits, working closely with others to identify and resolve issues.
  • Have a working knowledge of instrumentation used to control the process and work with others to remedy defective equipment.
  • Ensure others understand and can take corrective action to maintain established parameters and keep the circuit within established ranges.
  • Track quality control tests and monitor adjustments to ensure the circuit operates within established product quality parameters.
  • Perform investigative tests with others as required to ensure the circuit operates at optimum conditions.
  • Support metallurgical investigations as required, determining and evaluating methods to improve circuit performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in operating parameters, equipment, procedures, and process control strategies.
  • Make recommendations to supervision for efficiency, safety, and production improvements.
  • Monitor operating maintenance checks on all necessary operating equipment and take corrective action when required.
  • Support the maintenance of equipment and prioritize work while following SOPs and working safely.
  • Complete administrative and reporting tasks as required for performance management, tracking of KPIs, and due diligence.
  • Strive for and implement actions for continual improvement in crew and plant performance.
  • Aware of budget and costs associated with operations and assist in their awareness to the crew and control.

Requirements

  • 10 years' experience in Mill Operations or equivalent.
  • Competency in Basic Mill Common Core and demonstrated competency with all modules appreciating Operator levels 4, 3, 2, 1 (Agnico Eagle Mill Operations Training Classification Guideline).
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
