About the Role

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a key role in analyzing business information requirements and translating them into conceptual and logical data models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business units and departments to analyze business information requirements and develop data infrastructure that supports the business.
  • Develop and maintain data architecture and data models at the conceptual and logical levels.
  • Coordinate the implementation of data model changes to existing physical databases.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with outsourcing partners and vendors to support database design implementation.
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence reporting to address business decision support requirements.
  • Identify data ownership issues across the enterprise and participate in the development of data architecture policies and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration from a recognized program.
  • Five years of recent, related experience.
  • Knowledge of business systems analysis, conceptual and logical data models, and database design.
  • Ability to manage medium to large database design and implementation projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and make sound judgments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
