Hydropower Safety Manager

AECOM, a leading infrastructure consulting firm, seeks an experienced Health and Safety Manager for a large hydropower construction project in Canada.
About the RoleThis is a high-profile position that requires daily interaction with the project team, client, and contractor's on-site teams. The selected candidate will report directly to the Project Manager and work remotely or on-site anywhere in Canada.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive health and safety management system tailored to the project's needs.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Lead health and safety training programs for project staff and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project management and engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field, with at least 8 years of experience in health and safety management.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety management systems.
AECOM offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for career growth.
