  • At Nanaimo Family Resource Programs, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate child-care worker to join our team.
  • This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to work with clients living in group homes and half-way houses, providing support and care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • As a child-care worker, you will be responsible for household chores, meal preparation, and accompanying clients to appointments and social outings.
  • In this role, you will also supervise and coordinate activities of early childhood educators and assistants, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for our clients.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Housekeeping activities
  • Food preparation
  • Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
  • Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Administer medications and provide advanced emergency treatments to patients
  • Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
  • Care for foster children
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
  • Requirements:
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Criminal record check
  • Child welfare check
  • Driving record check (abstract)
  • Valid driver's licence
