Academic Guidance Specialist

CIMT College is seeking an Academic Guidance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide educational, career, and personal guidance to students, as well as supervise teaching assistants and coordinate counselling services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend educational conferences and workshops to stay updated on best practices
  • Supervise teaching assistants to ensure they are providing high-quality support to students
  • Counsel students regarding educational, career, or vocational issues, as well as personal and social issues
  • Consult with teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to student support
  • Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests to inform student guidance
  • Refer students to other specialized services when required, and participate in staff meetings and educational conferences
  • Develop guidance and counselling programs to support student success
  • Arrange for recruitment of graduating students by employers, and supervise peer counselling programs
  • Supervise field experience for graduate students in clinical and counselling areas, and prepare and deliver presentations at conferences and workshops
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
