Feed Formulation Specialist

At More Than Just Feed Inc, we're seeking a highly skilled Feed Formulation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our formulation department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of formulations and corresponding pricing requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Compliance and Regulation: Ensure adherence to formulation-related regulations affecting livestock feeds, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Formulation Administration: Administer formulation, manufacturing, and accounting system components to maintain item accuracy and integrity, streamlining our processes for optimal efficiency.
• Formula Implementation: Collaborate with Nutrition Consultants to implement new and update existing formulas and pricing, ensuring seamless integration into our systems.
• Cross-Functional Teamwork: Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams through effective communication, promoting a collaborative environment that drives excellence.
• Nutritionally Balanced Formulas: Create and maintain nutritionally balanced and cost-effective formulas according to animal species and life stage, meeting the evolving needs of our customers.
• Timely Formulation Requests: Deliver timely and accurate completion of urgent formulation requests, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality.
• Formula-Related Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for Consultants, Sales Coordinators, and Regional Operations Managers regarding all formula-related matters, providing expert guidance and support.
• Toll Manufacturer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with toll manufacturers, optimizing collaboration and communication to drive business success.
• Compliant Feed Labels: Create and administer compliant feed labels, auditing as required to ensure regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Ingredient Specifications: Maintain accurate ingredient specifications within formulation software, guaranteeing data integrity and facilitating informed decision-making.
• Safety Data Sheets: Administer Safety Data Sheets for manufactured products, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Laboratory Analysis: Work with external laboratory analysis vendors to execute forage submissions tracking, monitor analysis results, and verify invoices, ensuring seamless integration of laboratory services into our operations.
• Feed and Ingredient Analysis: Assist in tracking and recording feed and ingredient laboratory analysis to support quality manufacturing and product delivery, driving continuous improvement.
• Customer Benchmarking: Conduct customer benchmarking and data management, analyzing performance metrics to inform business decisions and drive growth.
• Performance Analytics: Maintain formulation measurables and analyze data to assess performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
• Pricing Support: Provide support to the Pricing Specialist as required, contributing to the development of comprehensive pricing strategies.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Post-Secondary Education: Post-secondary education in Agriculture or equivalent experience is considered an asset, demonstrating a solid foundation in relevant disciplines.
• Microsoft Computing Skills: Advanced Microsoft computing and applications skills are essential, with proficiency in formulation, ration balancing, accounting, and manufacturing software.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with CFIA, FeedAssure/HACCP, and Health Canada regulatory and audit requirements would be highly beneficial, ensuring expertise in relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Agriculture Experience: Previous agriculture or livestock industry experience is considered an asset, providing valuable insights and expertise in related fields.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
