Nursing Care Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Care Support Worker to join our team at Romko Residences LTD. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with serving meal trays and feeding patients
- Deliver messages, reports, and specimens between departments
- Supervise patients' exercise routines and provide support as needed
- Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as required
- Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure a clean and safe environment
- Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect
- Transport patients between care facilities and provide support during transfers
- Answer call signals and respond to patients' needs in a timely and compassionate manner
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
- Provide first aid in emergency situations and respond to medical emergencies
- Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Perform repetitive tasks and maintain attention to detail
- Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring standing, walking, and lifting
- Ability to distinguish between colors and maintain a safe and clean environment
- Client-focused and able to prioritize patient needs
- Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
- Initiative and ability to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
- Judgement and ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Reliability and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy
- Team player and able to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
- or equivalent experience
- Ability to work shift or on-call work and relocate for this position
- Previous experience in this field of employment and required certifications
- As per collective agreement
- Work Term: Permanent
- Work Language: English
- Hours: 30 to 37 hours per week
