Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Director to lead our game production solutions team. As a key member of our technical leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction of our game development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Team Management: Lead a team of technical experts in game production, promoting a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Partnerships: Collaborate with game and technical teams to define project goals and milestones.
  • Solution Architecture: Work with product management and partners to design technical solutions that meet project requirements and schedules.
  • Technical Decision-making: Use your expertise to make technical decisions for the engineering team and articulate the technical vision for our technology roadmaps.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team, promoting an environment of learning and improvement.
  • Quality Review: Review completed engineering deliverables to ensure they meet our standards of quality and reliability.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Broad Technical Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of EA's game technologies, engines, and strategies to ensure our development is aligned with EA's broader goals.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a software engineer or developer with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience working on large-scale build and release projects or collaborative platforms.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the CI/CD space.
  • Proficiency in risk management and ability to identify potential issues and create mitigation strategies.
  • Comfortable working in a remote or hybrid environment and willing to travel to meet with team members and partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

Management Skills Required:

  • 3+ years of experience as a people manager.
  • Ability to instill a culture that prioritizes game teams as valued customers.
  • Mentor, coach, and aid in the development of team members.
  • Set clear goals and deliver them on time and at quality.
  • Negotiate with partners, vendors, and customers.
