We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the University of Alberta Hospital Pharmacy, a 24/7 facility that operates around the clock. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical products to patients.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing and distributing pharmaceutical products, receiving and triaging medication orders, compounding and repackaging medication, and preparing sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
To be successful in this role, you must have completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program and active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician. Additionally, you will need demonstrated computer or word processing skills, commitment to continual personal quality improvement, and lifelong learning. Prior hospital experience with a variety of responsibilities, including computer and keyboarding skills, sterile compounding, and unit dose drug distribution, is highly desirable.
