Payroll Manager

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team at Magna Search Group in Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of biweekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage full-cycle payroll responsibilities for the company, including biweekly payroll processing for Canadian employees.
- Submit annual reports, T4s, and T4As to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
- Take ownership of the end-to-end process from vacation tracking to paid time off (PTO).
- Manage benefits enrollment and support the implementation of the company's benefits program.
- Implement new human resources information systems (HRIS) and support new employee onboarding.
- Work with managers on ad hoc HR projects and oversee payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Assist with benefits and HR practices, ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits.
- Maintain and update payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Supervise payroll staff and coordinate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Prepare and review payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
- Address and resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain payroll systems and software updates.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for payroll transactions.
- Manage year-end processes, including T4s, Relevé 1, and other tax-related forms.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve payroll processing efficiency.
- Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Bilingual (English and French)
- HR experience is required
- 5+ years of relevant experience in payroll management
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and laws in Quebec and Canada
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
