Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Tax Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Private Client Services practice, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing engagement teams focused on partnership, corporate, and trust entities, including planning and execution of client tax engagements.

You will anticipate client needs and collaborate with RSM colleagues in specialty tax areas as well as cross line of business to build client relationships and support growth. Additionally, you will provide leadership, training, and career mentorship to staff and supervisor-level team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise business owner clients on a full spectrum of business and tax opportunities, including succession planning, wealth transfer planning, and tax compliance.
  • Manage and oversee the engagement team focused on partnership, corporate, and trust entities, including the planning and execution of client tax engagements.
  • Anticipate client needs and collaborate with RSM colleagues in specialty tax areas as well as cross line of business to build client relationships and support growth.
  • Provide leadership, training, and career mentorship to staff and supervisor-level team members.

With a strong understanding of private client or business taxation, you will have a desire to grow skills in the private client arena. You will drive and collaborate with senior leadership on growth opportunities with existing clients and prospects.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.
  • CPA license or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in public accounting with an emphasis on taxation and/or private client taxation.
  • Experience with private client or business taxation with a desire to grow skills in the private client arena.
