We are seeking a highly skilled Sewing Operations Manager to join our team at Canada Goose Inc. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning the activities of our Sewing Machine Operators, ensuring that the team is performing at a high level and reaching daily quotas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of sewing machine operators to ensure efficient production and high-quality products.
- Review factory loading schedules daily and plan production accordingly to meet customer demands.
- Review approved production samples and specifications before beginning production for each released purchase order.
- Calculate the number of sewing machine operators required to meet daily quotas and assign them to tasks accordingly.
- Provide training and instruction to sewing machine operators to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor and maintain a safe working environment within the department and manufacturing floor.
- Communicate core values and company policies to the team.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of sewing experience, preferably in the apparel manufacturing industry.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
- Able to complete pre-production samples independently.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to prioritize and operate proactively, handling issues in a calm manner when appropriate.
